Admission Requirements
  • KCSE mean grade C- and above or its equivalent or
  • KCSE mean grade D+ with two year experience working as a mortician in a recognized institution
  • Certificate of good conduct
Course Structure and Duration

This certificate program is delivered on-site by tutor-led didactic sessions (coursework) and work-based competency mentoring (Practicals)

The methods of teaching shall include practical on normal and abnormal body examination of anatomy prosection, study of slides and plates using the light microscope

The duration of the course shall be a minimum of 12 weeks and a maximum of 16 weeks

The student shall be required to complete all coursework and practical assignments that are prescribed.

Each course units in the course has 60 contact hours

Examination Regulations

A Candidate shall be required to take integrated practical and written examinations.

The final examination shall account for 70% of the marks while continuous assessment shall account for 30%.

A candidate who fails in the final examination shall be allowed to take a supplementary examination. Pass mark for the supplementary shall be 50%.

A candidate who fails more than half the courses or fails the supplementary shall be allowed to repeat the course.

Certificate Award

After successful completion, the student shall be awarded a certificate in Mortuary science and practice.

College Fee

The current college fee for the course is KES 45000. This figure could be reviewed without notice.
